Solo victory for Page
July 17th 2015
In an exciting round 8 of the Eelmore series Youth A rider Charles Page manged to gain a substantial gap on the adults to win the race solo with 40 second gap on the main bunch. The race started off with Page making a break in the first lap a gap he managed to get open and hold for the first 4 laps before the pack brought him back. The race stayed fairly calm for the next 20 minutes with the occaisonal attempt from another in the bunch. It was at the 30 minute mark where Page and Charley Calvert (Bournemouth Arrow) worked together to cross the gap to a lone rider. After crossing the gap all three riders started workin together to start opening the margin between them and the bunch. With 15 minutes to go the original rider away dropped off from the breakaway leaving just Page and Calvert. The two continued to widen the gap until with 3 to go Calvert dropped off leaving Page with the comfortable task of holding a 35 second gap to the line. Page has a comfortable lead over the overall series and is looking to extend that and win the series.
