The Edgware Road Club is proud to have helped in the development of another top rider who follows many other top riders from the Edgware R.C. who have made their mark on the National cycling scene.
This year Charles has flown the flag for our club winning or finishing in a high position in numerous races in various disciplines but mainly road and track, and finishing the year in the top 5 of the National rankings.
Charles success this year has attracted the attention of a number of bigger sponsored clubs and he has decided, with the full blessing of the Edgware R.C. to ride for Team Corley Cycles, Milton Keynes. At our recent A.G.M. we wished him every success and thanked him for raising the profile of our club and he will remain a second claim member.
Will Charles be another Central rider who can follow in and fill the shoes of other great Central riders such as Bradly Wiggins and Roger Hammond to mention just two?

Charles Page was competing once more, this time up in Manchester for the National Championships. In a week filled with ups and downs Page was able to come away with two significant personal bests in the 2km Pursuit with a time of 2:18.633 and in the 500 metre time trial putting out a time of 35.864. The bunch races did not go so well with an unfortunate case of a poorly set up bike causing him woes in the final of the points and unlucky positioning during the sprint for qualifying in the scratch. Overall, the week was an experience for the second year under 16 at his first national track champs. All looking forward to the next year and next season

In an exciting round 8 of the Eelmore series Youth A rider Charles Page manged to gain a substantial gap on the adults to win the race solo with 40 second gap on the main bunch. The race started off with Page making a break in the first lap a gap he managed to get open and hold for the first 4 laps before the pack brought him back. The race stayed fairly calm for the next 20 minutes with the occaisonal attempt from another in the bunch. It was at the 30 minute mark where Page and Charley Calvert (Bournemouth Arrow) worked together to cross the gap to a lone rider. After crossing the gap all three riders started workin together to start opening the margin between them and the bunch. With 15 minutes to go the original rider away dropped off from the breakaway leaving just Page and Calvert. The two continued to widen the gap until with 3 to go Calvert dropped off leaving Page with the comfortable task of holding a 35 second gap to the line. Page has a comfortable lead over the overall series and is looking to extend that and win the series.
